Finance Manager

The role

The Finance Manager is the senior owner of client engagements at Azurium. You lead 4–6 fractional CFO and FP&A relationships concurrently, set the analytical agenda for each, and translate raw financial complexity into clear recommendations for founders and boards.

This is not a back-office role. You sit at the table with CEOs, push back on assumptions, and own the quality of every deliverable that goes out the door.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end relationship for 4–6 fractional CFO and FP&A clients, including monthly reviews, board materials, fundraising support, and ad-hoc strategic analysis.
• Lead the analytical agenda for each engagement: identify the questions that matter, structure the work, and ensure recommendations are grounded in driver-level reasoning.
• Supervise 1–2 Financial Analysts on day-to-day execution. Review their models, sharpen their writing, and develop them into the next generation of Azurium leaders.
• Present directly to founders, CEOs, and boards. Translate analysis into recommendations the audience can act on in 10 seconds of reading.
• Contribute to the firm: refine our internal frameworks, build reusable models, and help shape how Azurium delivers work as we grow.

What we are looking for

• 6–10 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, or a fractional CFO setting. Mix of operator and advisor backgrounds preferred.
• CPA, MBA, or CFA strongly preferred. The right operator experience can substitute.
• Demonstrated ability to own a client or business unit relationship end-to-end — not just produce deliverables to spec.
• Excellent financial modeling. You can build a three-statement model from scratch and stress-test someone else's in under an hour.
• Excellent written and verbal communication. You write conclusion-first, you quantify, and you do not hide behind hedging language.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity. Founder-led companies do not arrive with clean data rooms.

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus performance bonus. Benefits include health coverage, retirement contribution, and a meaningful annual professional development budget. Specific range disclosed in first conversation; calibrated to experience and location.
